Masonry Construction

To achieve maximum sound insulation, thermal insulation and fire safety in all our sites are placed materials of the highest quality, which in addition to being certified, are tested on a pre-created standards by us to comply with all climate conditions and external factors. The walls in Mladost Center are built with the highest class ceramic blocks of the Wienerberger brand, which will provide natural thermal insulation, sound insulation, fire protection, strength, microclimate, low equilibrium humidity, environmental friendliness and durability.

Together with Wienerberger ceramic blocks, we also use Weber masonry mortar, observing all consumption norms.

Why do we choose Wienerberger ceramic blocks?

1. Natural thermal insulation and air conditioning

Climate change and care to reduce harmful emissions in the atmosphere from one side, as well as the palpable depletion of fossil fuels on the other, makes the topic of effective thermal insulation extremely relevant. When we want to minimize the cost of thermal insulation, we seem to forget one basic fact: cooling a building also requires energy consumption, which is even higher than the cost of heating. But nature has already taken care of this and we can safely rely on a natural air conditioning when we create our home. Ceramics have a very good storage capacity. We should not confuse thermal insulation with heat storage. Thanks to it, the temperature fluctuations are equalized without the need for additional energy consumption and the microclimate in the rooms is regulated in a natural way. Porotherm bricks are produced by adding burning ingredients (most often sawdust), which burn during firing and form a porous structure - a factor that contributes significantly to improving the thermal insulation properties of the blocks. Due to the special configuration of the openings of the blocks, as well as the fact that the chambers are located vertically and by laying the solution on the horizontal joints the air in them is sealed, the thermal insulation of the blocks is significantly improved.

2. Sound insulation

Due to the nature of the raw material from which they are made, ceramic blocks have a bulk density between 650 and 1000 kg / m3 and this ensures good sound insulation of the walls.. The link between the sound insulation index of airborne noise and the bulk density of single-layer structures (or surface density) is directly proportional - the heavier a material is, the more airborne noise is reduced by the partition structure constructed with such material . If the multichamberness of the Porotherm blocks / alternation of ceramics - air - ceramics / is added to these facts, then the sound insulation capacity of the walls made with this type of blocks increases additionally by another 2-3 dB. Laboratory tests on a brick wall filled with Porotherm shows a sound insulation index of 44-49 dB. Proper masonry and filling of the horizontal joints, as well as the subsequent plastering of the walls contribute significantly to their even better sound insulation.

3. Fire protection

The bricks do not burn - they have already "passed through the fire" once. Solid brick structures have the highest degree of fire protection compared to other building materials and most importantly - under fire loads, brick walls retain their integrity and do not cause collapses, and do not emit any hazardous gases. This increases the chances of the inhabitants of a building to avoid suffocation and injury during evacuation.

4. Microclimate

The comfort of living is not only a good protection from external influences, but also how well its occupants feel inside the building. The definition of this is largely subjective, but as a result according to various studies for such a feeling it is necessary that the surface of the inner walls is dry and warm, the surrounding structures and their coatings do not cause allergic reactions and unpleasant sensations. Thanks to the natural materials used in its production, ceramics is a ph-neutral mineral product and does not contain substances that could cause allergic reactions. The technologically achieved capillary structure allows ceramic bricks to act as a natural regulator of humidity, absorbing excess water vapor in the air and thus minimize both the feeling of steamy air and the risk of mold, ie. provide high biological tolerance for the inhabitants. Maintaining optimal relative humidity in the rooms and a healthy microclimate are key factors for comfortable living.

5. Low equilibrium humidity

The water absorption of Wienerberger ceramic blocks is high (16-18%). However, due to their capillary structure, the bricks also quickly and completely give off the moisture they have absorbed, ie. they "breathe". Their vapor permeability is one of the highest (μ = 5-10). In practice, masonry walls are absolutely dry and their thermal insulation properties are not adversely affected by increased moisture content. The moisture content of the brick walls ranges from 0.05 to 2.86%, with an average value of 0.45% by weight. Practical humidity ≤ 0.5% does not affect the thermal conductivity and the calculated values are almost identical to the operational ones.

6. Environmental friendly

Ceramic bricks are made from 100% natural materials, namely: clay, water and air. It acquires great importance, etc. ecological balance of construction materials - how ecological is their production; how long and with no harmful impact on the environment is their operational period and how safe for nature they are as waste. When tested according to the Construction Waste Management Strategy, bricks are among the safest and can be used in infrastructure projects with minimal processing. According to a number of indicators, Wienerberger blocks are among the most environmentally friendly materials.

7. Durability

Baking bricks at temperatures above 850 degrees leads to chemical transformations that lead to stable and timeless compounds. Baked ceramics is an extremely durable and weatherproof material. Over time, there are no processes of change in strength, density, thermal performance, etc.

8. Good investment

Monolithic buildings made of ceramic bricks are among those with the longest lifespan - category 4 and 5, or with a period of trouble-free operation 50-100 years. However, architectural monuments and artifacts from before the New Age refute this statistic - bricks have a much longer life. In buildings filled with Wienerberger blocks, until recently, the satisfaction of both the builder and the end customer was added to the purely image effect affecting the value of the investment. The economic justification is extremely clear - the costs for the part of the masonry in a building rarely exceed 7-8% of the total construction costs, and the return on investment is very good. In addition, solid brick structures require minimal maintenance, and their construction and technical indicators provide excellent quality of living at optimal energy costs. Brick buildings retain their value for many years. In practice, buildings built with ceramic bricks are not just for life, but for generations.
